Recommendations for Users

We have prepared a series of “question-answer” recommendations for you. By following them, you can minimize the risks of your funds being blocked by exchangers.

Does the status “Fair” mean the exchanger will definitely not block funds?

NO. If an exchanger has the “Fair” status, it means there are no reviews related to withholding client funds. However, don’t forget that every scam exchanger scammed for the first time at some point. An “fair” exchanger might choose you as their first victim. We review new feedback every day, and regularly several exchangers from the “Fair” or “Neutral” categories are moved to “Scam.” We do not provide any guarantees — only a platform with a large database of reviews for analysis. In addition, many users are afraid to leave negative reviews when exchangers withhold their funds, since they don’t want to anger the administration and reduce their chances of getting their money back.

We have hidden reviews copied from bestchange. More details about this decision can be found in our blog.

What does the star next to the exchanger’s name mean?

The star next to the exchanger’s name means that the exchanger operates without AML & KYC. Very few exchangers are willing to publicly commit not to block your funds, so we recommend giving them preference when choosing. In addition, the star on AntiSwap is only awarded if a security deposit of at least $1000 has been made.

How does the deposit work?

An insurance deposit can be made by any exchanger listed on AntiSwap. The minimum deposit amount is $1000. The deposit is stored with the AntiSwap administration and remains untouched. The exchanger has the right to withdraw their deposit. The refund request is processed by AntiSwap within one week, provided there are no outstanding financial claims against the exchanger.

In case of a dispute where the client provides proof that they transferred funds to the exchanger but received nothing in return, the AntiSwap administration undertakes to compensate the client from the exchanger’s deposit. The compensation amount does not exceed the claim amount. If multiple claims are considered simultaneously, the deposit may be divided among the victims.

It is important that the victim has a confirmation email with the details of their and the exchanger’s accounts. Note: your email client must allow you to obtain the original email with all headers for sender verification. Such an email serves as direct proof when reviewing a claim.

What precautions can I take when exchanging?

  1. Choose exchangers with the icons and — they commit not to block money under AML/KYC pretexts and have made an insurance deposit, the amount of which is shown when hovering over the icon. If the exchanger fails to fulfill the deal, you will be compensated from the deposit.

  2. Before exchanging, ask the exchanger to check the wallets you will be sending from and receiving to. Confirm whether these details are acceptable to them.

  3. Ask whether the exchanger receives cryptocurrency to a local wallet or directly to an exchange account. Remember: if they receive funds to an exchange account, the risk of funds being blocked increases significantly.

  4. Clarify what will happen to your cryptocurrency if the exchanger considers the transaction risky. Based on their response, decide whether to proceed with them or not.

  5. Preferably use currencies with anonymous transaction features, such as Monero, Dash, or ZCash. AML checks cannot be applied to such transactions.

Note! If you use ZCash, make sure you are using an anonymous address!

  6. If exchanging a large amount, split it into parts and make several exchanges to diversify risk.

  7. Ideally, your exchange amount should not exceed the exchanger’s deposit. It is safer when your exchange is 100% covered.

  8. If the exchanger behaves suspiciously (delayed processing, strange questions) — immediately open a claim. This way, you warn other users and reduce the number of people competing for the deposit.

  9. For receiving cryptocurrency, use new (clean) addresses. Most cryptocurrencies allow you to create a new address in a few clicks.

  10. Check reviews on en.antiswap.io and other platforms. Someone else’s experience may prove useful to you.

The exchanger has frozen my funds, what should I do?

If the exchanger has frozen your funds, you can contact specialized services that handle unlocking.

How can I help the project?

Warn your friends and acquaintances about AML fraud, share a link to AntiSwap, and ask them to read the “about the project” page. It’s much better to learn about AML from an article than to personally face the full range of problems hidden behind it.

Recommendations for Exchangers

How to avoid blocking client funds?

We suggest 3 approaches, you can use them together or separately:

  1. Accept funds to an intermediate (local) address. After the client makes the transaction, check its risk score, and transfer it to the exchange only if you are satisfied with its cleanliness. Otherwise, return the funds to the client.

  2. Request the client’s wallet for a risk score assessment before providing payment details. Provide details only if you are satisfied with the client’s cryptocurrency.

  3. Avoid using exchanges that are prone to blocking funds due to poor AML or for any other reason.

We hope these recommendations help you avoid fund freezes!

Remember: no one but yourself can ensure the safety and security of your funds! If you disagree with this, we recommend refraining from using cryptocurrency.
